Check out some of the Lesson Review Questions (Lesson 2 of 8 Lessons) ‘The Truth About Recruiting’ that Juan answered;
Were you aware of this information prior to seeing it here?
“I was unaware of a lot of the information provided to me in this first module. I had a vague idea of how to manage my time, but this module showed me the precise strategies that I should use to make the most out of a 24 hour day.”
Listen to what Juan has to say about the PTRG Academy since finishing the program;
As you have progressed through the program, what are some of the things that stand out in your mind. What have you learned so far and how can that information you’ve learned be used in your everyday life?
“Through this module I learned that I must make myself a player of high value to any coach in the country. I learned that Head coaches have a lot of responsibilities outside of the actual coaching, which include their own family lives and even establishing a relationship with the community. A high value player is put together as a full package from an academic and athletic standpoint. Even things such as a set up voicemail and email represent a well put together student-athlete with a high value character. The skills of time management and being a full package are things that will carry me through my entire collegiate career as well as when I begin working. I am accountable for my actions and only I can get myself in a position to get recruited and one day hired.”
Give an example of how you may have already used some of the information you’ve learned and/or give an example of how you will be using some of the information you’ve learned in the future?
“After going through this module I established a set schedule where I have blocks of free time to work on recruiting and using the PTRG program. I also set up an email (gmail) which will give me access to my college contacts and a google calendar to stay organized. Being that I learned how much pressure is on college Head coaches, I changed my recruiting approach to focus on position coaches in order to get on their recruiting board. If my position coaches hold me at a high spot on their board, I will have higher chances of getting recruited.”
As you’ve reached this point in the process, how would you describe what the PTRG Academy is to another student athlete that knows nothing about the program?
“The PTRG Academy is a program that will allow you to put yourself in the best position when going through the recruiting process. The skills of time management and understanding everything that goes into college recruiting will allow you to have a set game plan for your career as a student-athlete.”
