Andy Rodriguez is an upcoming senior and a wide receiver on the Wildcats offense coming into this fall season. Andy is another student athlete that is working on his PTRG Certification that plays for Western High School in Davie, Florida, lead by Head Coach Adam Ratkevich.
The Wildcats are coming off their best season in history of the school last year with a record 9-1 regular season and a first round appearance into the state playoffs. They have plenty of returning starters, including Rodriguez, to make a run for the championship this season.
Head Coach Adam Ratkevich says, ‘Andy is a very tough hard working young man and extremely high energy. I’ve never seen him quit a drill, a wrap or anything I’ve asked him to do in four years. I’m expecting a big senior year out of him.’
Let’s take a look at what Rodriguez has to say about what he’s learned so far since finishing Lesson #2 (or 8 Lessons) in the online educational platform PTRG Academy;
When asked, ‘Have you begun to use what you’ve learned to start implementing your time management? Andy replied, ‘Every day early in the morning I have dedicated my time to looking at different scholarships and completing my PTRG topics.’
‘I have learned how to contact coaches and how the life of a college coach is set up.’ And Rodriguez continues by saying, ‘Now that I have learned how to contact coaches and how to respond to coaches, in the future, I will utilize the information I was given to try and go to college debt-free.’
When Andy was asked if he had a plan of action he replied, ‘My plan of action has always been to apply for scholarships to multiple in-state colleges such as, USF, FAU, FIU, FSU, and UF. I particularly want to study computer science and graphic design.’
Stay tuned because Andy has 6 more lessons to cover in the PTRG Academy online educational program. Following along as Rodriguez continues his journey learning and mastering the recruiting process as he becomes college and career ready.
